Pisano Engineering has been designing and building shell and tube heat exchangers for the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil & gas industries for years. Basically, the shell and tube heat exchanger is an industrial apparatus apt for the efficient transfer of heat between two fluids at different temperatures, but avoiding direct contact between the two fluids. The design consists of a bundle of tubes contained within a cylindrical shell, in which one fluid flows inside the tubes while the other fluid circulates in the shell side, around the tubes.
